Brad Thompson  (Youth Pastor)  Send E-mail to Brad Thompson
Brad was born and raised in a Christian family in Visalia, CA. He accepted Jesus and was baptized when he was 14. He graduated from Redwood High School in 1990 and went on to graduate from Pepperdine University in 1994 with a BA in Organizational Communications, minoring in Business Administration.

Brad met his best friend Rebecca while recruiting at summer church camps for the Pepperdine Admission Office and they married in 1995. Rebecca also graduated from Pepperdine with a degree in Liberal Arts and a CA Teaching Credential. They have three children Jayson, Mikayla and Mallory.

After working and living in Southern California for several years, Brad and Rebecca moved to the Yuba Sutter Area in 1999 to be closer to Rebecca’s family and raise their own children. They have served in local churches as voluntary Youth Leaders teaching Bible classes, leading devotionals, and organizing activities. Brad also served as Deacon of Youth for 3 years at a local church before starting to attend Cornerstone in 2009. In 2010 the Thompsons officially placed membership at Cornerstone after being active with the Work Days, Clothing Drive, Men’s Ministry, and Becca has attended the Titus 2 Bible study for the past 9 years.

Brad and Rebecca adopted the slogan “God Is Good” when Becca was diagnosed with leukemia in 2008. Friends had red wristbands created with this slogan, and spread them around the community to show support for the family. After much prayer and support from the local community and churches the family has grown strong together as Becca endured a stem cell transplant in 2009 and continues her recovery.

Brad and his family enjoy spending time outdoors camping and fishing. Brad also hunts with Jayson, raises bonsai trees, and spends a lot of time with Rebecca coaching and watching the kids play soccer, baseball, dance, and basketball.

One of Brad’s favorite verses is found in Joshua 24:15:

“But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
